Increase Your Conversion Rate through 8 Clever Marketing Strategies

Increase Your Conversion Rate through 8 Clever Marketing Strategies

23rd September, 2019

Conversion rate — also known as the holy grail of digital marketing — is what all marketers strive for, but only the best achieve. Increasing your conversion rate is a fundamental step towards increasing your return on investment (ROI) and making the most of your marketing budget.

But, as you may already know, it’s easier said than done. With so many businesses today competing for the attention of your audience, how can you stand out enough to encourage the conversions you need?

Luckily, this article highlights 8 great strategies that should help you optimize your conversion rate in digital marketing.

1. Test, Test, Test!

This cannot be said enough! If you are looking to convert, you need to get to work. Think of every element you’re using in your campaign and the possible variations in how they can be used. Think for example of your email’s subjects, images, copies, placements, colors, fonts, length, EVERYTHING, and build many variations. Subject these variations to rigorous and controlled testing with A/B tests. With a little patience, you will be able to make your digital marketing efforts more and more effective.

2. Use Clear Call-to-Actions

Calls to Actions (CTAs) are among the most crucial elements in digital marketing. The job of a CTA is to convince users to take the action you want them to — Examples of CTAs are: “buy now”, “read more” and “get started”. CTAs are not only made of the words you use, but must include links, images, and animations that effectively bring people to conversion. The rule of A/B testing also applies for CTAs; so test variations to make sure you guarantee effectiveness.

3. Create Urgency

Adding urgency — or accelerators, as they are also called — to your digital marketing strategies is one of the oldest tricks in the books, and there is a good reason for it. When using offers that say “Last chance”, “Limited availability”, or “Available only today” you add a strong statement that gives users the extra push they need to convert. However, you need to use these accelerators wisely and at the right moment, not always. Used well, you will see how accelerators can improve your conversion rates.

4. Use Heat Maps

The best way to know every detail about the behavior of your users when they navigate through your page is to use heat maps. These heat maps show you which elements your users paid most attention to, where they get tired of your page and decide to exit, or if they are ignoring your CTA button. This information can do a lot of good for your strategy.

5. Use the Social Media Effect

Most social networks are fundamental for your online marketing strategy. And, if you plan on having a strong content plan and a coherent strategy with the pages you’re creating, you should consider building your social media profiles accordingly. If you want your social media profiles to help you convert more, you need to integrate them into your communication strategy.

6. Create Communities

To get more conversions in the long term, you really need to work on gaining your users’ trust. A great way to do this is by creating communities around subjects of interest. This community can become a platform that helps potential clients develop a long term relationship with your brand. You can also use this platform to create UGC (user-generated content).

7. Make Yourself Available

You need users to communicate with you, so you have to make it as easy as possible for them to do it. Each of your clients or potential customers has their own communication preferences, so while some methods may be simple for some, they could be extremely frustrating for others. This is why you need to make sure you are available for as many users as possible by using a variety of communication channels such as telephone, forms, chats, emails and social media messages.

8. Be Mobile

You need your campaigns to be instantly responsive. Mobile devices are responsible for the larger part of internet traffic, and this will only keep growing. So, if you don’t want to miss out on a lot of potential clients, you need to design your marketing strategy to be perfect on whichever device your customers prefer to use, whether smartphones, tablets, or desktops.

Hopefully, these easy-to-implement ideas will inspire you to improve your digital marketing efforts and excel with your conversion rates. Good luck!
