Mr. Oussama Damaj is an independent trainer and consultant specializing on sustainable approaches to security management. Mr. Damaj spent 6 years as an International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) Regional Delegate to the Armed/Security Forces covering the MENA region. In his role, he supported the ICRC delegations in North Africa, Mali, Niger, Middle East, Arabic Peninsula and Iran, in promoting, protecting and training various demographics such as military/police personnel, medical/religious personnel, legal advisors, organized armed groups, journalists and officials.
Furthermore, Mr. Damaj continues to play a key role as a lecturer, course director, class leader, member of the “Teaching Advisory Group” and member of the General Assembly at Sanremo Institute for International Humanitarian Law since 1998. His main contributions include the review and delivery of training programs, and in particular the “IHL Foundation Course” conducted in Arabic.
Oussama is a former Brigadier General in the Lebanese Army. He held several top ranked positions within the organization, including: Head of Training, Chief of Staff of the 11th Mechanized Brigade and Security Officer at Beirut International Airport. In his 28 years of service in the Lebanese Armed forces, Oussama demonstrated his ability to successfully conduct security and law enforcement operations.
